South Park Slope, around Prospect Park′s southwest corner, is a lively, tree-lined neighborhood of brownstone and low-rise brick residences, immensely popular as a mellower version of the North and Center Slope. Community activities center around Bartel-Pritchard Square where you find the F/G subway stop, Wednesday′s Greenmarket (May through November), The Pavilion Theater, and the Prospect Park entrance to numerous events as well as the Celebrate Brooklyn! outdoor performing arts festivals. An area haven is the Park Slope Armory YMCA which has something to offer for everyone, whatever your age. And of course, along 7th Avenue and Prospect Park West, what a rich variety of cuisines in restaurants and various eateries serving the traditional and the trendy!
